Postcard : Bacolod City, Philippines

Shengkay of Postcard Lover sent this colorful postcard of the Masskara Festival. This is the first postcard I’ve received from her and I’m looking forward to exchanging more postcards with her.

Let me share with you the description on the back of the postcard :

Masskara Festival – Bacolod City

Masskara is coined from the word “mass” which means “crowd” and the Spanish word ‘”cara” which means face. The two words combined have become the local word for “mask’. This festival showcases colorful costumes of smiley masks made out or paper mache or molded clay. Masskara is held on the weekend nearest October 19.

Too bad some of the stamps came off and only one was left by the time the postcard was delivered to me.

Thanks for the wonderful postcard, Sheng. I do hope I’d get to visit Bacolod City someday and witness the colorful Masskara Festival.
