The Philippine Postal Corporation issued a special set of stamps in commemoration of the Beatification of Pope John Paul II last May 30, 2011. The special stamps will have a denomination of  7 pesos in four designs.

Souvenir sheets of 40pesos each were also issued. The First day Cover includes four block of stamps.

Pope John Paul II was born Karol Josef Wojtyla on May 18, 1920. At the age of 65, he was elected to lead the Roman Catholic Church on October 16, 1978. Millions of people from around the world mourned his passing on April 2, 2005. Pope John Paul II was beatified in Rome last May 1, 2011.
